Hi friends,

I talked to an IIO this morning and she said they are far behind approving 485s. My LIN is 00-244-XXXXX and she mentioned that my case was not yet assigned to any officer and it might take several months. But, I have seen some August approvals in this web site. Is there any basis for what cases they take and what cases do they delay? Can I really believe her?? Has any one got similar message and got results otherwise. Please let me know.

The only logic is no logic

There is no logic or sequence to how and when INS will look at a case. Cases are assgined to different IIOs and depend on that IIOs schedule and speed. Also, simpler cases probably get processed faster than more complicated ones.
 
Well never assume that whatever IIO says is the right one

It is less than 50% chances that IIO\'s we get on phone know right answers. Some are downright clueless. Unfortunately you probably got one of them most likely.

From the approvals, it is good to assume that they have started to process even August cases. Obviously they officialy state July 14th as the RD of processing. So whoever told you that, is probably lazy and doesn\'t even care to check the information.
 
Detroit_Waiter, what happened to your case?

Looks like last week, they cleared so many RD 07/00 cases and
they may sooner start RD 08/00 cases. Right!?
I know the volume of RD 07/00 and 08/00 cases are two or three times
less than RD 02/00 - 05/00 cases. This is based on my estimate of
I140 approval speed during those days!!.
SO, we can see quick approvals in the next few months if
they work as they have been working without the Sep Audit.
But, if they apply a brake for Sep audit who knows what
happens next.

Talked to IIO

I talked to IIO, she said they\'re processing 07/14/2000 cases. My case is pending,
LIN-00-242-*****. My finger printing is OK, which is back in April, 2001.

I spoke to an IIO on August 28 and she said my case had not been assigned to an officer yet. September 4, 2001 is the 400th day from receipt date.

LIN-00-250-xxx is approved on 8/28/2001.
NSC/EB2- RD july2000 - ND Sept2000.
added entry in immitracker as WAITOVERATLAST.

can we believe the IIO\'s

My case is older. EB3, PDOct96, RDNov99, FPDEC00, Waiting.
I called IIO and in
May - was informed that the case was not on the right track. She would put it on the right track. Should be taken up for processing shortly.
June - coincidentally spoke to the same IIO. She was surprised that the case was not taken up for processing. She said that she will send a note to the officer.
July - Another IIO said that the officer is waiting for some information. What she does not know. She said that she will see that the request will come to me. Got nothing.
In the meanwhile contacted the senator and informed the same. The senator wrote to INS.
August - Spoke to the IIO who had spoken to me in May and June. She was surprised that the case was still pending. She said that it was assigned to the officer on Aug 3rd. Should take 3 to 4 weeks for processing. She said that she will send another note to the officer and will probably receive a decision in two weeks. This was as of aug 22. Hopefully there has to be something by first week of Sept. So we\'ll see what happens.
I have a detailed message in the I-485 board, called "age old cases...."

ADDING TO THIS >>> recently I got a letter from my Ex-employer requesting additional information for Birth Certificate. Do I believe the these IIO\'s well I dont know. I have sent the Requested RFE\'s and am waiting for the approval. Will keep youposted.
