Talked to IIO...(RD ND confusion!!)

Talked to an IIO today morning and she said that me case is pending as my RD is Sep 12 and they are processing Aug 28 cases. I told her that my RD is Aug 24 and my ND is Sep12 and she told that no and my RD is Sep 12 as that was the day when money was taken out and they go by that date.
Strange as i have a copy of my Receipt clearly statinf RD as Aug 24th!!!

Does any body else have clear distinction between RD/ND and if the processing times shown are by RD or ND? I see lot of cases approved for August with RD/ND later than my case but i guess that\'s how INS processes cases(Randomly). I\'m also aware that there are cases pending for July also..

RE: RD/ND Confusion

I have ran into this before. My RD was May 19 and ND was June 20 but they say that my RD and ND are both June 20. Different IIO have different response on this so I am not sure who to believe.
BTW my case have not been approved yet.

I spoke to an IIO named Cathy 3 weeks ago who also stated that it is the notice date that is important because that is when the INS cashed the check. My receipt says it is the receipt date that is important. My attorney also says it is RD. Who knows? It\'s the INS.
 
no confusion just different reference point

The bottom line is that ND for us ( as on the 485 receipt) is RD for them ( the IIOs). And thats the date they go by. Thats the date it enters ( received) in their computer system.
I don\'t think that the RD as mentioned on the 485 receipt is used anywhere at all in the AOS process.

Have you contacted your local senator as it seems your case is pending for long time. When i talked to IIO they said they are processing Aug 28 case. May be you can call them and ask why is this delay..

Rafiq1- I read somewhere that you have contacted the senator. Where are u located and how do you go about that?? What was the response from the senator office..

icy, can u confirm that they are processing 8/28/00 (whatever RD or ND) cases. If so then I should see some result today.

I have been calling INS and have talked to different IIO several times in last 4 months, they don\'t give any info why it is pending and I have always got the same "standard" response that "the case will be assigned to an officer in 30-45 days".
I have talked to my local congressman about couple weeks ago and they have talked to INS regarding my case. They were told to check back in 4-6 wks.
I also received a letter from my senator saying the same thing that they have received INS response regarding the 485 inquiry mentioning the same standard response.
I guess the only thing I could do to wait for my congressman to call INS back in about 3 weeks.

Icy and all, I have indeed contacted the Constituent Services at the senator\'s office. I\'m in Kansas City and the office is in Jefferson City, MO. I have not heard a response yet bbut I will keep y\'all informed.

domlur when i talked to IIO she asked me to wait and after 30 sec or so she told that they are procession Aug 28th cases and as mine is sept 12 it is still pending
