Talked to IIO - June 2 Update

I just got off the phone with the CSC IIO. Everything she told me was pretty much status quo.

One interesting remark though: when I asked about the timeline of my i484 (WAC 02 041 5**** - ND Nov 16 2001) she said it's still in the file room but it should be picked up in about 5 days. I asked her how did she came up with the "5 days" approximation and she said they are currently working on the Nov 11, 2001 cases now so mine should be about 5 days away from being pulled of the shelf. I'd like to believe her but given my past experience with the IIOs that would be pretty foolish.

However, it is the first time I heard something else than the standard Nov 16th stuff ...

Any comments / validations / invalidations ?

Cheers to you all!

So does that mean for each passing day they will touch the corresponding WAC number.. ie Dec cases will get touched in 14 days? Doesn't sound too convincing.. b'cos there is no way of telling which days have humungous no of filings... so her prediction is as good as any of ours.

Why dont u re-verify in a week to see where u stand ? I'm sure you will hear a diff answer.. but wouldnt hurt to check

As you probably all know the standard response is "call back in couple months" etc.

It is the first time I have heard of a specific "5 days" answer so that's the only reason for my caution optimism. You can bet I'll call back in a week to validate these comments.

It would be great if someone else could call CSC to double check on my findings.

It may be a honest guess from IIO but note that from past couple of months (should I say since Oct. 2002) CSC is processing cases with NDs of Nov first half.

By the way I have a question for you, as per my understanding from June 2003 onwards the IIOs won't answer calls directly through (949)831-8427! How did you manage to talk to an IIO? Did you call the NCSC number and then they redirected you to CSC IIO? How long the wait was in any case?

Thanks

I guess persistence pays off.

I simply called in the CSC (since the BCIS is of no use).

After about 10 re-dials I got though and then after about another 40 minutes wait I was connected to the IIO.

Good think I have a headset and a second line :)

Persistance doesn't always pay matina.
I have been unsuccessful in getting through for the past 2 weeks. And I try EVERYDAY! And I have neither a headset nor a second line. I'm lucky I even have speed dial.
But, maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow. Will update if I do.

looks like you cann't sleep without calling IIO everyday :D :D

Unlike some people, I really am concerned about my green card process and if I do lose sleep over it, it would be perfectly natural. If I could talk to an IIO one day, I would stop calling them.
