Hi Aqua Lang,

When we call INS, do we need to specify to the IIO about our I-140 amendment. Or can we just ask about I-140. And when is the best time to call?

is not a new case, but a response to an RFE?

There is nothing in the I140 application which mentions amendment of I140; so as such the IIO\'s are unaware about amendment I140 by looking up your case. Some I140\'s do mention the A#\'s though. So, I specifically mention amendment I140.

The best time to call is around 8am.

I think VSC does identify I-140 amendment as a separate process. When the lawyer sends a letter with the I-140 amendment package, he does specify that the package isfor I-140 amendment, not a new I-140. Also, my RD for I-140 amendment was Sep 29th and it got approved on October 24th. So, I don\'t know how they are still processing Sep 5th I-140 amendment cases. She MUST have been talking about the new I-140 cases.

I asked the same question twice to an IIO. I was told that they do treat the I-140 and Amended I-140 the same. Then I asked "How come other people are getting approval who filed in the October?". She said some officers are fast and some are slow.
Though I am not happy with the answer, there is nothing I can do!!!
