talk to IIO is almost useless!!

I just talked to an IIO (seems nice though). I asked whether
my FP stuff and background check is cleared. She said "yes".

but when I asked whether they have my I-140 in the system,
she said she can not tell. I called two IIOs about this,
they also said they can not tell..

Why they do not tell whether they have I140 in the system or not?

Anyone has same problem?

She also insists the current processing time is April 15 (standard
computer-like answer!).

I ask what would be the most optimistic estimation about when my
case can be touched. She said she has no idea.

Mostly, it is simple a waste time to talk.

good luck to all.

Most Screwd Up Customer Service

In my opinion, INS customer service is the most screwed up public relations service across the Federal Government. Do you know why???

INS is meant for foreigners/immigrants, not for American Citizens, There is noone to hear our voice/concern. We are nothing for politicians, as we don\'t vote for them.

I work in one of the Federal Govt. contracts. I know how the Govt is on top of issues or concerns of the public.

ric - just curious about your question about I140 in the system......

Is it possible for the I485 process to proceed without a valid I140 in the system? Am I missing something here? Thanks.

No Title

Talking to IIO\'s is like going into a casino. You go in with high hopes and after you\'ve lost your money you promise yourself and tell others not to go there and curse the place. But you still go back. If you don\'t go someone else will.
Well, VSC casino is running the wheel of fortune and the IIO\'s are the sweet poison they unleash on you.
I love my peace so I don\'t talk to IIO\'s.

IIOs probably don\'t know if your I-140 is in place.

Basically IIOs only know what you know. It\'s a very screwed up agency. I agree with a previous poster. They should start a charge service, say $2 per minute. Then they can also have a fully automated system which is like the current AVM system. I bet we will get better service and also better chance of getting through because only those with real problems will pay to talk to an IIO.

Yes, I did. They answered same thing "04/15". anyway, not much useful to talk to them. jus

I also asked whether they are processing 4/5/6 in parallel. she denied to answer again.

Would one know if their I140 is withdrawn?

Most of us work either on EAD or H1 after we file I485 and would not feel the impact of I140 being withdrawn/messed-up until it comes for final approval. Does something get triggered as soon as I140 is withdrawn? Just being cautious - there may not be any merit in my concern.

No, unless you call the INS and ask if your I-140 was withdrawn.

Otherwise, you will only know when your I-485 is denied.

This means one really need to check with IIO regarding valdity of I140..

before using the AC21 portability provision to join a new company after/before 180 days of RD. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.
