How old is the kid? say if he/she is 5 or 6 year old, it is perfectly OK to just let him wait in the waiting room alone. If he is 0-4, if both you and yoru apouse are interview at the same time you can tell the receptionist there
this and let one look after the kid and the other get interview and then teh first one is done with interview let this one look after the kid and the other
go in for interview

WBH: Does this pretty much work for any DO ? I will be going to SJC DO and have a 14 months old kid.

Don't take my words for it. But I believe it works. I even beliveve IO can
let you into teh interview room with your 14 month old.

I've seen kids at the Indianapolis DO, some as young as 1 to 1 1/2 years old, and they proceeded to charm the socks off the IO's, FP techs, etc. But they were well behaved :). In one case I saw a mom's lawyer child-sitting a 5-7 year old while mom was busy :)

Make sure the kid passes the Southwest Airlines kid test and you'll be fine

Southwest is going to continue to suffer from this fallout, we had planes which missed maintenance service last May, now kicking a 2 year old and mom off the plane? I can see the woman getting her money back and free flights to any destination in the world...:) Oh.. wait a minute, they only fly to the US..:D
