Supporting documents for N-400, special case

I'm still with my employer who sponsored my green card. I had two citations (speeding) in last 5 years. I was once arrested for Assault & Battery (domestic violence), case was later dismissed by the judge since my wife did not testify. I'm in the process of filling my N-400 application and have following questions

- Do I need a lawyer? I can get a arrest report and court letter that says case is dismissed. My case, otherwise is straightforward. Never been out of status.
- I'm sending arrest report, and court paper along with my application. Do I need anything else?
- Does it help if I send the application along with my wife? She is not keen about applying now.
- Do I say yes to "have you been charged with a crime or offense"??

Please advice

Thanks
Fiz

You and your wife's natz applications are considered separately - there is no advantage in sending them together.

Minor speeding tickets are of no consequence. You are required to mention them on your N-400, although there is no requirement to provide supporting documentation for offenses less than $500 providing they do not involve alcohol or drugs.

The domestic violence charge is however a different problem. As a minimum, you will want to provide certified documentation of the case disposition. A consultation with an experienced immigration attorney familiar with this area of law may also be advantageous.
