I had asked the local senator\'s office to inquire on my behalf about the whereabouts of our application. Interestingly,TSC responded saying that they have mailed 2nd FP notices on 3/28/01 and scheduled us for 6/20/01. Also they said they are approving cases filed in 7/99 right now. All of us know that we have seen lots of cases approved well past that date. My question is:

Can we go with our old FP notices and have it done well before the scheduled date so that when they start saying that they are approving cases filed in 9/99 we are okay w/o waiting for FPs at that point?

The answer is Yes ! Even I redid my FP with my old notice.
My ND is 08/1999. When TSC is processing 08/1999 cases I wanted to be ready with an approved FP instead of waiting till June for my FP redo. So I went to the local ASC here with my old notice and got my FP done. Even a few other 485 waiters like placharya on this site have done it. ( Infact he was the first one to do so and advised me
about this ).
For further details check my old postings in ISN.org dated around
04/18/2001 to 04/24/2001.
Do not volunteer any info at the ASC ( saying your FP expired, etc, etc ) unless they happen to ask you a specific question.
Just tell them you wish to do your finger prints.
In my case they refused to do it at the first ASC that I went to.
I then tried my luck in a different ASC and got lucky.

good to hear that they have mailed FP notices for you.
can you pl tell us what is your exact FP receipt date at INS? Mine was recd on Jan 10,2000 at INS(expired on Apr10,2001) and I am in the same boat as you. I did not hear about or get any FP redo notice yet.
Also, you mentioned that "they have mailed 2nd FP notices on 3/28/01 and scheduled us for 6/20/01"... it is already more than a month since they mailed it, did you receive the notice or still waiting for it?

As Sunny has said in his earlier posts, may be you can give it a shot by trying to give FP with your old notice. After all, I don\'t see any negative effect even if you are denied at the ASC center. BTW, which local ASC/INS service center do you have to go for your FP?

Sunny, thanks for the prompt reply. I have not recd the FP notices yet and that\'s the cause for more anxiety for us:-(. Earlier FP date - 11/10/99;due to a computer glitch it was cleared by FBI only on 1/3/2000. My local office is Raleigh,NC. Don\'t they look at the old FP notice and tell you that they can\'t take your FP? Strange?

yes it is strange. Some people who tried this posted that they didn\'t succeed. But since Sunny had tried twice and was able to give it, I think it is worth giving a try, especially if your local INS office is not too far (for some people, local INS office is more than a few hundred miles away from where they live).

I called the local FP office and told them about receiving a fax mesg from TSC about our FP appts being scheduled for June 2001 and that they had supposedly mailed the notices on 3/28/01. Now that it has been over a month and I have no idea where the heck they mailed it to,I checked to see if I can get my FP done with my old notice and the facsimile as proof. "No way!" was the response. FP office does not entertain anything but the bloody original notice to make our lives even more miserable. Man,someone needs to kick INS in the rear!

There is no point in calling them about this issue. If you ask them THEY WILL TELL YOU NO. Like I said do not volunteer any information.
It completely depends on the guy who looks at your notice.
Either he\'ll make a fuss about your date or he might just ignore it and not even worry about it.
Even in my case when I told them too many things and told them my FP expired, etc, etc in the first ASC, they said I should come only after I get my new notice and refused to do my finger prints.

I have repeated the same things several times to you guys. I suppose its upto you to decide how you want to handle this from now on.
Call them and ask them and get NO for an answer OR
just try to go there directly and get your work done.

If you want to try your luck, go directly to the ASC ( Application Support Center ) mentioned in your old FP Notice and just tell them you want to do your Finger Prints and hope that you get lucky.

You could also try waiting for our new FP ( IF YOU HAVE HEARD FROM TSC THAT YOUR FP IS RESCHEDULED IN JUNE ) and going for your FP redo once and for all at that time.

Atleast 3 of us have been able to get our FP done with OLD notices using this approach :-
(1.) anilkv - who got his 485 approved this year on Jan 23 in TSC.
(2.) placharya - who is currently awaiting his 485 approval, and
(3.) Myself.

There are also a few other people in isn.org who went before the scheduled FP date and got their FP done, but they went with their new notices.

You will get your FP reschedule notice only this month or in early June if your FP has been rescheduled for June.
I know atleast 6 others who were scheduled for June FP redo in March itself and none of us have received our new FP notices.
TSC will send us the notices probably around the end of this month.

sorry to hear that. May be, as suggested by Sunny, you can go in person and give it a try. Who knows if there is a different person, then he/she might accept to take FP.

Quite a few of my friends at VSC who all have a PD of Feb98 or later , India, Aug99 485 RDs .... they all are getting approvals everyday. I feel frustrated to see TSC playing with us like this. It is their mistake to give FP notices so early(in 99) during 485 processing and then delaying the approvals due to expired FPs. I am seeing regular approvals at CSC,NSC & VSC for people from India/EB3/PD98. I wish there is some beg fella at INS whom we all can complain about the deliberate suppressive attitude of TSC. If we see in myladoor\'s stats of monthly approvals, it is obvious that TSC is THE worst center of all. I hope this sadistic attitude of people there ends soon.

thanks for your constant encouragement to all of us. We need to share this kind of info with each other regularly so that everyone of us need not go through the same pain again and again.

Thanks a lot for the posts and all your concern. I am delighted to say that I got my FP notices in the mail yesterday and even though I\'ve been scheduled for 6/20/01,we are going \'morrow to get that done and get it out of the way:-). The idiot/bozo,meaning the IIO told me that they had not mailed the FP notices yet. Can you believe the inconsistency? I am hoping to see our approvals as a pleasant surprise like the FP notices. The IIO did see that the Senator\'s office had inquired on our behalves and he asked if they were working on the case:-). Good luck to all of u.

I wish you good luck with your FP attempts. Hope you & Sunny get your final approvals soon. Please post us your experience of second FP. Also, what did the IIO mean when he asked you if the senator\'s office staff are working on your case? Did he indicate anything like if going through senators is of any help or something like that.

Your guess is as good as mine about the IIO\'s remark concerning the Senator\'s office inquiry into the matter. I will however keep you posted about the FP experience.

Good luck with your FP. To ensure that your FP comes out with good quality you can try applying either Lubriderm or Neutrogena cream on your hands before you sleep today if you wish.
After your FP give about 3 weeks for TSC to accept your FP from FBI and then go full blast thru your Senator since they are already following up on your case.

Today I contacted senator\'s office to get an update on my pending 485 at TSC. AFter a couple of hours I got a call from the senator\'s office telling me that my Finger Prints have expired(nothing new).
They also told me that "TSC is processing 7/99 cases, your FP has expired so you will get a new FP notice by mail, right now the case is in FP MOBILE UNIT who inturn will send you FP-redo schedule,
after FP it goes to FBI and then to INS who will then resume the processing"

I don\'t know what this "mobile unit" is all about. It looks like it is going to be another few months before I even get my FP notice.
God knows how long this hell is going to continue.

Good luck with your FP. I am sure it will come thru soon. We gave our FPs this morning. Surprisingly,mine was done the manual way and my spouse\'s was electronic. Last time,both of us had gone the electronic route. Hmmm! Anyway,as long as they hurry up and approve our cases,I can care less:-). They should be sending the FPs to INS Nebraska (central unit) \'morrow my FedEx and thereon to FBI for approval. More later..

Sunny,can you post the TSC fax format for getting (FP notice,2nd one)
from TSC by Fax. I remember you,or Bhajan doing a fax attack a while back.
I tried searching isn archives,but could not locate that post.BTW,my FP expired
and am waiting for 2nd FP notice.

it is good to hear that you are done with your FP. did they ask you any questions at the FP center? (like, your FP is scheduled for June but you went in May etc.... also, did they see your FP notice at all? I am trying to see what would have happened if you had gone with your previous FP notice). I have sent a fax to TSC again today asking for FP notice. Don\'t know when I will get it.

No questions asked. YES! They do look at the original FP notice twice, once at the front desk and the 2nd time when lady inside enters the details on the computer. I don\'t know how different would it be with an old FP notice. It\'s absolutely okay to go earlier than the scheduled date \'cos all they need is an original FP notice and an ID. Finally,they give back only the sealed form that u fill in when u enter the place and they keep the original FP notice (hope the same is true with other ASCs).
