Hi Gurus,

I am working for a company based in New Hampshire and the same company
applied for my GC. But my client located in Texas, hence residing in Texas
since beginning of my GC processing.

Labor approved from NH in June, 2004 and Applied for I140/485/EAD/AP/G325
(Biographic Info) in August, 2004 at VSC. Got the EAD/AP approved in Sep,
2004.

I have used my Texas address in all the applications and Address didn't change till now and working at the same client site.

My Question here is that:

1. Now, I have got a good contract in California with different client. I want
to work thru the same employer. I am not changing the employer.

Another thing i want to mention that: I don't have a problem with current
contract also. It will continue for another 1 year or so.

(a) Only thing is that, if i move to California, my residence address will
change. Will that affect my GC processing in anyway.?

(b) Do i need to fill any applications and send it to GC processing center
(VSC) apart from sending AR-11 (Address change) to INS?

(c) What happens to my FP form (G325)? Will they send it to District office
near the new residence location?

2. or Is it better to maintain the same contract and same residential location
what is mentioned in all applications till the GC approval?
or Is it 100% safe to change the residence address?

Thank You somuch for your time in advance. Waiting for your suggestions...

---and dont change the employer till I-140 gets approved and I-485 pending more than 180 days
Another thing i want to mention that: I don't have a problem with current

(a) Only thing is that, if i move to California, my residence address will

------- if you move from the address that is on your pending I-485 then you need to do the below once you move:
1 file form AR11 for address change
2 update NCSC on 18003755283, your new address, provide them your ,EAC # of I-485 and reciept # of any pending petitions with service center, provide the receipt#, your name, DOB, A#( A# is on I-485 filing reciept)
3 write letter to service center(VSC) for address change on your I-485( if you have spouse I-485 pending He/she also need to change address on her/his I-485) or any pending petition with them provide your past and NEW address, attach I-485 receipt copy, write your name, DOB, A# on cover letter so that you get fingerprinting notice at your new address. Send the letter to your service center with certified return receipt and out side the envelope write in big bold letters ATTENTION: ADDRESS CHANGE for Pending Form I-485 ( or any other application)
*** do the all 1,2,3
(b) Do i need to fill any applications and send it to GC processing center
(VSC) apart from sending AR-11 (Address change) to INS?
---read above
(c) What happens to my FP form (G325)? Will they send it to District office
near the new residence location?
--- if they update your new address on pending I-485 they will send the FP notice to your new address and you can do FP with nearest FP service center
2. or Is it better to maintain the same contract and same residential location
what is mentioned in all applications till the GC approval?
------ if you can do it , do that
or Is it 100% safe to change the residence address?
------many have changed the address. once you send the address change to service center then after 15-20 days check your I-485 status( if you want to be sure that your address is changed on I-485 then go to USCIS online status registar your I-485 info with your email ID and once they change the address you will get email many say it LUD or last update)

Hi ginnu/gurus,

I changed my address on 3/25/04 (didn't change job). Old address and new address are in same city and same zip code. Just after moved into new address, I filed AR11 and called NCSC 18003755283 to update address. I didn't send a letter to TSC to update address. So far, I didn't receive anything from USCIS to confirm it. I don't konw if they get my new address. My online status still show an old message, such as "FP received, resumed ...".

I did FP on 1/30/04, do I need to do another FP because address changed?

Right now, I don't plan to contact USCIS, don't want them to mess my case up and cause any delay in processing. Because I observed that currently TSC is working very hard on Aug-03, Sep-03, Oct-03 concurrent cases. I hope they will touch my case in 2 months. If my case is approved, I can still update my address immediately. I don't know if I miss something?

Please give me your advice. Thanks!

As a part of AC21, you can move to get another job only after 180 days your 485 is pending. it is not a problem, but the problem is the USCIS computer system is not perfect because sometimes they don't update the address. What if they send you a RFE notice or etc at your old address? You wouldn't receive them if they don't update the address so it is a problem. so call USCIS two times or three times to make sure the address is updated. Also, you have to file AR-11 form. Also, go to the local USCIS and have one of the officers to double-check on the system.

Do you have a lawyer? If so, they can send each notice to you and your lawyer.

Hope this helps,

USGC485,

Thank you, I should write AR11 instead of AC21, I just corrected it.
I have a lawyer, as you said, I think my lawyer can always receive a copy. Also for I140, my employer may receive a copy also. In this way, I still don't like to contact USCIS to mess anything up.

but first talk to your lawyer about getting another job because lawyers will evaluate if your job is similar or not. You may ask him/her about file AC21 and ask him if it is a good idea to move to another place. Just make sure. It is your responsibility to make sure and always ask your lawyer and research on this forum before you go ahead planning so you don't want to mess up yourself and don't let USCIS mess up your case.

Good luck and take care.

My address got corrected after one call itself. However, for updating in my wife's case, had to call USCIS 3 times before it got updated. Remember, docs like EAD are mailed to you only and not to attorney and USPS do not forward such mails too.
