successor of interest

Is there any cretria to decide how to define "successor of Interest"?

My group (7 people) will be sold to the contract house before 180 days of I-485 pending (my I-140 has been approved in 05/2003). We will not take Layoff package and work on the same project. Can it be recongized as "successor of interest"? What document is needed to prove this?

If the new owner will take up the I140 amendment and provides a support letter offering same job.
