I had a successful H1B stamping in Tijuana MX on August 22nd. Had no issues at all.
Followed what most of the guys on the fourm have been saying. Thanks for all the help guys.

I will answer the questions that I may get most:
I did not have a Mexican permit/Visa..I think you need to get one but the lead time here in Los Angeles for thatwas 5-7 weeks and I did not have the time for that.No one checks at the border.

The only time you will use it is if you get stuck there.

Congrats dc_silverarrows,

I would really appreciate if you could answer these questions.

#1
Little bit about your case, like whether was it based on pending Greencard? Was it a H1-H1 revalidation? which year of H1?

#2
I am on my 10th year H1B. I want to get my H1B and H4 for my wife revalidated for three years (10th, 11th & 12th) based on approved I140. Do you see any issue?

#3
Did you meet/see any other guys like me (revalidation based on pending GC) got their revalidation without any issue?

#4
Share the experience from interview process/Questions?

Thanks,
VS

my case was H1 revalidation. It was not on pending GC

I saw a couple extending for their 8th-9th yr they had no issues.

The VO asked only 2 questions
a) how long I worked at this company
b) can I see ur recent pay stubs

then she said ur visa has been approved.

Give me the direction from San diego.

Hi,
I am going for H1b Stamping to Tijuana on Oct 19th. Can you give me Directions to get border of Mexico. And do you know any agent? if you know give me his phone number plz.

If you are driving there go down the 805S or 5S and take the exit that says last exit in the US and there are lots of parking lots around there and from the parking lot you could walk to the border.

I dont know of any agents..

I followed kool_maverick's post for my travel

Why do you need your H-1B stamping in the Mexico but rather the country you will visit? After you got your visa stamped, you returned to the USA or went to the other country directly?

How much money I can keep in my hand?

Thanks for your reply

How much money($) is sufficient for my journey and how much is the bank check I suppose to take and how much is the consulate fee?(In US Dollars)

Well you would need $109 or $110 for the Visa Application fees to be paid at banamex and then $50 for the visa fees.

$20 or so for cabs and then the rest is upto you as to how much you want to take.

Please Help

my name is misspelt in my new indian passport as raj mani when the right name is raj manni .
I lost my indian passport and applied for new passport in houston texas , and they misspelt my name . iam already in mexico for h1b stamping .
in the ds 156 form , i see two fields , the first field :surnames ( as in passport ) and the second field : other surnames used ( maiden , religious , professional , aliases )

surname ( as in passport ) for that should i fill in manni ( the accurate last name )or mani ( the misspelt last name in the indian passport ) .

and in the second field : any other surnames used : should i fill in this the manni .(if i fill in the surname , mani in the passport in the first field ).

please let me know what should i do, what should i tell the consular officer about misspelt name , should i tell i changed my name or there is mistake in my indian passport , iam already mexico for h1b stamping , i didnt recognize this misspelt name before .EMAIL ME AT RAJUS1011@YAHOO.COM

regards
raj

what is the pre-requisite for booking the appointment?
The reason I am asking is that I still dont have my H1 approval documents and I would like to book the appointment at Tijuana as the dates might get filled up.
Guys let me know asap
