We have had a successful CP interview at Delhi on 22Oct02. Here are some details of my experience.

Medical on 17Oct

Reached Delhi on 17OCT
Went to Dr. Jain for medicals on 18th Oct @ 8 am
Asked to do x rays first and come back for physical and vaccinations.
Were done by 2 pm. asked to come back at 5.30 to collect results.

Got our pics taken at kumar studio (walking distance from Jain’s clinic). Were Asked to come back at 6 pm to collect pics.

Experience at Dr. Jain was nice. He does his job quickly and most imp. He gives results in a day…so for all who have time limitation, Jain is the man!!!

Collected results and photos at 5.30pm

CP Interview on 22Oct

Had an appointment at 8 am. Reached the consulate at 7.45 am…there is no parking available at the consulate..parked at a market near the consulate (wasted around 15 mins).
Had to show appt. letter to the guard to enter…there was a separate queue for Cper’s…I Was carrying a laptop bag …it was allowed inside after thorough checking.
Went in at 8.15..Asked to deposit DD at the cashier’s window first.
Waited for around 1.5 hours and our names were called. Asked for the following docs
DS230 1 &2
Original PCC (from Indian consulate)
Copy of BC
I-134
Employment letter
Marriage certificate copy

No pay stubs,W2 ,marriage photos, company name change docs were asked.

Were asked to sit in lobby and wait.

Called in about 1 hr . were asked to take oath first. It was an Indian lady and surprisingly there was no American to take interview. Following questions were asked

- How long have u been working for this company.
- How long have you been outside US (since I am on a project in another country)
- When are we returning back to the US
It was a quick 5 min session and she said…okay you are done, come back at 5 pm to collect your visas.

Went back at 5 pm ..at 5.30 my name was called and they handed me the packets containing the visas. My H1 visa in the passport was “cancelled without prejudice”

It was a very good experience ..there were absolutely no issues at all and I must say that the staff at the consulate was nice and courteous. I think as long as one can arrange all the basic docs and have some visibility in the job front, CP is one great option to opt for. On top of all,I think this forum is of immense help in preparing yourself for the interview

so thanks to all of you and good luck!!!

please feel free to ask any questions.

congrats

Khalas,

Congrats on your successful interview! Please can you share what your employment letter said. Does it need to have anything specific apart from Salary, employment date and general job description?

Also, did you notarize the original employment letter as well, or just the copies.

thanks for sharing,
Amit
