My wife's case got transferred to DC local office on 07/07/04.
We have just moved back to Texas.
I filed for our AR-11s few days and called the 800 number and the lady said She have to write out a letter to the CIS office, Arlington.
------- now your wife has 2 options :
A) let her attend the interview CIS office, Arlington. you should write a letter to local USCIS office Arlington that your wife is ready to attend the interview with that office and update your new address directly( dont belive NCSC 1-800 they are all BS) on letter write that file transfred from service center on........ name, DOB, A# and your wife name and copy of I-485 filing reciept and copy of Transfer notice( your lawyer may have got it or your wife may have got it)
B) request Arlington USCIS office directly that you have moved, provide new address, your wife name DOB,A# and transfer notice copy and you can request them to send/transfer the file nearest to your home address Local USCIS office. they will again transfer the file to your local USCIS office. remember this may delay her Interview date
** read the Baltimore experence posted in this thread (read last 4-5 postes, person requested for file transfer from Altanta Local USCIS to Baltimore they have conducted his Interview and after Interview Baltimore said they still not have recieved the file from Atlanta local office. nobody knows where the file is at this time.
Has anyone else done that ? And have they been successful in getting their case transferred again back to the local office of their new address ?
----- yes, you can do that
