1. Interview at 9:30 on 01/17/02 , Went to consulate at 8:30am
2. was the 11th person.
3. Called to submit docs at 9:30am , they asked for my PCC originals. I told them I had submitted them with packet 3. They checked and they had it. The person said usually people don\'t submit the originals with Packet 3!!!. Asked to Emp letter, Birth Certificate and Marriage . Gave it.
4. they asked us to wait for the consular
5. Saw two guys leave without paying the fee (Added Tension). One of them I spoke to said the consular wanted him to get the correct PCC from UK government instead of the PCC from Scot land . Looks like this guy got the PCC from a local police station in Scotland, but the Consular wanted the one from UK embassy .
6. The consular called us in at 10:30am , ASked us to swear what ever we said was true. Asked me if I was ever out of status , when I said no,
she mentioned that the computers were not working , as a result will get our visas only at 3:00 pm
7 Went back to the embassy at 2:15 pm , got the packets , checked the info, my father\'s name was spelled incorrect, got it correct , left
emabassy at 3:15 for the border , got i551 at 4:15 pm , and dorve back home in a Snow storm!!!
But what the heck I got it and I am happy,

Congrats on the GC. I have a couple of easy questions: How long did it take you to receive the P.3 package after receiving the I-140 approval letter. Also, How long did it take you to get the interview in Montreal after sending the P3 package to the US consulate in Montreal. I am trying to guess the total time after the I-140 approval until one gets the GC.

i GOT MY 140 CLEARED IN AUG 2000 MY DATES WERE NOT CURRENT , hence I had to wait till July
I sent in PK3 on July 31 , NV came back in Sep and asked me to get PCC from INDIA. I submitted that on OCT 30. Git my interview dt on Dec 7th.

Hey KAM RAM congrats, looks like a loong wait :)

Please post some details about the PCC from INDIA. I am also in the same situation, I have a Canadian PR, and was in canada for sometime before coming to US. My 140 hasn\'t been approved yet but I want to make sure I get all docs necessary, planning to got to Montreal.

1. I live in NY/NJ area, so is a PCC from NY indian consulate enough ?
Or should I get it from India ?
2. Did they ask about any proof for your stay in Canada, like tax paid there etc ?
3.Did you get your Canadian PCC by sending docs from US or did you go to canada to get it done ?

thanks

Need More Info KAM RAM

Hi,
The information you provided is really helpfull. I am also in the same boat. I am canadian PR working in US and have filed for I140. After this i need to go for CP in canada. But i have some question that what if canadian immigration office will not allow me to go back to canada from usa as i have been out of canada for long time. Actually i am here in us from long time. Even i went to india from USA and at that time immigration office stemp my passport with F1 as i was on F1 at that time. Is there anyway that they will not allow me to enter into canada?? Can i have right to enter back to canada even if they don\'t allow me??? I know one thing that even if officer at boarder refuse you to get into canada, canadian landeded immigrant has right to enter to canada and file petition in the court to sustain their PR.

Please provide me with more information on this topic. I will appreciate your help.

In order to maintain your CANADIAN PR , you should have been to canada atleast once every 6 months. If not you u automatically loose the residency. The best thing you can do is to apply for a canadian mutiple entry visa when you go for the interview. / I you are really interested , you can apply for a returning resident permit.

Hey KamRam

I need to get some more info. from you as it looks that you have more knowledge about CP in canada. I am on H1 here and my wife joined me on H4. I have canadian PR but my wife doesn\'t have canadian PR. So if i will go for CP in canada. Can my wife join there in CP with me. Or i have to go to India for CP. I will appreciate your hlep in this matter.

Thanks for your answers.
