Reached India on February 18th Morning.
Medicals:
Medicals at Lilavati on Feb 20th.
I strongly recommend Lilavati.
Manish, the guy who coordinates the medical examinations is really nice.
Medicals is just a one day process. All the tests and vaccinations are completed by 12:30 PM and you need to go back to pick up the reports at 4:30 PM.
Interview:
Interview on Febrary 27th at 9:30 AM.
Reached Consulate at 9:00 AM.
Immediately was let in. We were asked to pay the fee and wait to be called for submitting the documents. Had to wait till 11:45AM to be called for document submission.
ONLY the documents mentioned in Packet 4 were asked. My wife\'s Birth Certificate was in Hindi and when I volunteered to submit the translation, the lady at the counter refused it saying that she needs only the documents mentioned in Packet 4. This lady at the counter is very courteous.
After submitting the documents, again had to wait for the interview. Finally we were called in at 12:45 PM.
The moment we entered, the American Official administered the oath and had only 3 questions for me.
1) What is the name of your company?
2) What is your role?
3) How long have you been with this company?
Was asked to pay the fee and collect the Visa at 3 PM.
Came back at 3:30 PM and picked up the visa at 4 PM.
All in all a very smooth process.
POE:
POE was Detroit. I came back on a wednesday and hence absolutely no rush at the Immigration counters. I was the first in the \'US Citizens/Permanent Residents\' line. The lady at the counter referred me to another officer who took me to a room where I submitted the packet that consulate gives. The officer in the room took my Fingerprints and asked me to sign on the document.
He stamped my Temporary Green Card on my passport and that\'s it, it was all over in exactly 5 minutes.
Consular processing is the way to go.
All the best.
