Successful CP @ Mumbai - Aug 19th

Hi All

I had a great CP at mumbai on aug 19th. Reached India on the wee hours of the 15th and took rest on 15th. On 16th, went to hindujas. They require you to have your original passports and original appointment letter AND A PEN (yes, a pen) for the evening session.

Blood work, vaccines (i had a certificate) and x-rays in the morning. Out by 9:30 AM and back at 2:15 PM for checkup. Out by 3:30 after a cursory glance, eye check and a few questions.

Did shopping and movies in mumbai on sat and sun and went at 9 AM to the consulate. Docs got collected (counter 12, great lady) at 9:30 and had to sign a letter that I would inform them if there are any changes in employment before i departed (yeah right). Waited till 10:30 and got called to counter 9 for interview. NO questions asked. Took oath, the lady took a look at the employment letter and said the visas are approved. Paid fees and walked out. Came back at 3:30 stood in line and picked up the passports at 4:30 with the visa. What a relief !!

On the whole, nothing different from what is posted here by the previous cpers.

Yeah, as is always the case, I rushed out as soon as I paid the fees to smell the air of new found freedom!
NEways, hope you got that outstation train that evening and all the best to you n yr spouse for yr post GC life!

Bhai!. I am expecting Oct interview,so can U tell me what is the cut off date (higher end) for Mumbai to get the papers from NVC to schedule Oct interview.Also when we contact Mumbai consulate,do we reference the NVC case # or some other reference? Thanks & enjoy a tension free life!

Cases that get reviewed by Sept 20 and sent by Sept 25th *should* get october interviews. If you truly want a conservative figure, make it 13th adn 18th but people who deligently follow up when cases are sent on 25th should get october.

You follow up with mumbai with the NVC case #. Nothing else.

for example, people whose cases were sent 24th july from NVC, most likely reached Mumbai by the end of the month (it takes DHL 3 business days to deliver per their website, add a couple of days for safety), were able to get sept date.

Pkt-3 Question &....

Hi !! Congrats !!! And thanks for the ellaboration of ur GC event(interview,medical..)
I've a quick Q -
NVC has send my Pkt-3 to our company's attorney on 08/26/02 and yesterday (08/30/02) he has send it to me (duly filled in) for my review. He has send me the following -
DS-230-I & II
and
G28.
He has send the same for my spouse and kid in addition to I-134.
He hasn't send me DRS-2001.
I guess my Q is - Is it required to have DRS-2001 ? also DS230-II and I-134 at this stage ?

Also,in I-134, does it matter how much balance i have in bank ? What's the minimum amount do i need to show ?
A quick response would be highly appreciated.
