Successful AC 140 CP processing Mumbai June 2004

room rates

I took a standard room. Mine was discounted coz' my friend used his corporate booking discount ( Jet airways).

That was just an observation I made at the domestic airport, you might want to check out the same at int. airport.

From domestic it should take about Rs. 160 odd to go near the US consulate area.
 
Police Reports

Alren,

Are you from Houston? When you filed your AC-I140, did you have to get a Police Report from the Houston Police Department or did you get your PCC from the Indian Consulate in Houston? Thanks.

{You need to get PCC from the Indian consulate which ever is near to you }

Yours was a AC-140 case right ? did you get the appointment letter at your address or your lawyer address ?

Mine came to the lawyer address even though the Consul rep said it will be posted to my address and my lawyer is asking fedex charges.

Any suggestion.

Yes, AC 140 - APPOINTMENT LETTER WAS SENT TO MY LAWYER AND TO ME.

Received by Mumbai consulate 04/07/2004
BMB case no assigned on 04/08/2004
Medicals at Breach Candy 06/13/04
Interview/ Approved on 06/17/2004
Entered USA 06/27/2004 - POE Chicago

Fee for AC-140 applications is to be paid on the day of the interview. You will have to make a demand draft in rupees for US$335 made at a nationalised Indian bank. Exchange rate is as specified by US consulate on your appointment letter, not the prevailing market rate. During my interview it was 46 rupees.

Company attorney is saying they cannot file AC140 without the Police Report from local Police station. I am trying to convince him that a PCC from local Indian Consulate is okay and is needed by the interview date.
Am I right?

{My lawyer has sent the DS-230 part I, I-140 approval, I-824 receipt and approval notice, a hardship letter and passport copies b/w and my case was accepted at the mumbai consulate }

Just received "welcome notice" in the mail today. Waiting for card in the mail. Successful POE was on June 27th @ Chicago.

MY POE- Detroit - on Sept 18, waiting for welcome notice - about 3 wks now- you think I should continue to wait or do something - like call to USCIS.
And how long should I wait for plastic card.

Plastic card on an average takes about 3 months. In exceptional cases upto 9 months. And if lucky then under 1 month. There have been very few cases like mine where i got welcome letter in 10 days of date of entry and received the plastic card on 11/12 the day after DOE.
