Submitting tax return with I-485

Our I-140 has been approved under NIW.

When filing I-485 should we send in our tax returns? I don't see any place on USCIS that asks for it.

Here's why I'm confused

I've searched and apparently some people have gotten RFE's asking for it, although none of them filed under NIW.

But then we have a couple of friends that have NIW through lawyers and their lawyers asked for their tax returns

But some other people say they didn't send it in and weren't asked to do so either. So I think it probably depends on through what category you applied but I can't find any definitive answers.

Thanks in advance!!!

Filed through lawyer and they asked me to submit tax returns. Did not ask why, but have a feeling that submitting it can show your marriage is bona fide and maybe make sure that you were doing the thing the correct way.
IMHO, does not hurt to send. Consult a lawyer.

There is no need to show the tax documents for NIW filers. I did not do it and got the green card in Jan 2010 in about 3 months from the date of concurrent filing (I-140 NIW and I-485) using an attorney.

If the paperwork does not ask for it, I would not include it. Sometimes including extra documents can be just as detrimental to your efforts as not including enough. Good luck with the rest of the process!
