Submitted Police Clearance Letters, no movement on case

Hi gurus, my 485 has been way out of the processing date. As some other people in this forum, my FPs were rejected twice by FBI. So when I went to the local ASC center for the 3rd time FP, they told me they couldn't do it for the 3rd time. Instead, an immigration officer there issued a letter stating that I 'm no longer eligible for FP and need to collect Police Clearance letters. She also told me most likely I would be asked to go for an interview in the local CIS office.

I followed her advice and mailed in all the police letters to NSC 6 months ago. Did several inquiries and the latest one says that my case is still pending security check. 2 weeks ago I went to the local office with InfoPass and they checked my record in the system. They confirmed my name check is done and the only outstanding issue is the FP. Then I asked them that since my FP has already been rejected and I also mailed in the police letters, what was NSC waiting for? The lady was very nice, checked again and said it looked like the NSC was ready to get me in the queue to schedule an interview. But she doesn't know how soon that would happen.

So what should I do now? Just keep waiting? Will it help to get a lawyer on this (I didn't use lawyer to file my 485)? Please advise! Thanks in advance!

Hi frustratedOne,

I'm in a similar situation as yours. My FPs were rejected twice as well since my fingerprints were unreadable, did USCIS mail u an appointment notice for your 3rd FP? I'm just also waiting to hear from USCIS if I need to send police clearance letters as well. Also, whats your receipt date for your 485? I appreciate your help.

Thanks! :)

GCorBust,

I got the 3rd FP notice and went to the local ASC for it. That was when they told me they couldn't do it for the 3rd time. Then an immigration officer (not those staff doing FP) at that ASC gave me a formal document saying that I'm no longer eleigible for FP and need to collect police letters.

As to my receipt date of 485, it has been way out of processing dates because of the FP issue.
