I am new to this entire process and still learning a lot from you guys. My husband recently filed I-140 (eb1, niw), and the lawyer said it's going to be take a few weeks to get a receipt. Is it true? We are concerned that it should be filed by mid-March to get his H-1 exetension beyond 6 years. I found out that the checks are already cashed. Can we use it as an evidence that it was filed on time?
