I got a question...I need ur help.

My AOS is pending...can I still apply to a university NOT as an international student?

If so, what documents do I need to submit...has anybody done that?

It depends on how the Admissions Office of your college will classify you, so go talk to them. I got into two Universities as non-international student with pending AOS by showing them my filed papers.

The college where I applied classifies all people with pending AOS as international students. They told me that you need to have a GC or a stamp in the passport to be considered a resident. So, I applied as international student, even had to take TOEFL exam ( where as if I had had a GC I wouldn't have to take the test). Hopefully, when I become a permanent resident I'll be able to change the school status too.

In colleges where I applied, one has to take TOEFL (or show that they took English Composition I) even with GC or citizenship if their native language is not English.
So...it is always important to talk to Admissions Office to be sure about their rules.
