student Loan!!Request for Status Information Letter

I applied thry FIFSA and got approved but they want me to get a status information letter from Selective service . I'm now US citizen since 2001 but came in USA as F1 status back in 1991 and went out of status till 95 . Then got married and recieved a green card back in 1999 . Do you think I will have issues getting SS Letter?

Please help if you know anything about it!

I think the facts that you have provided won't matter as much as if you say that you have been registered to Selective Service?

Are you saying I should tell them that I'm already register with them? who about if they ask for any proof?

No I didn't say that. I was asking if you have already registered with them. When you were eligible? If you did so, just ask SS to send you a copy or a letter. I don't understand what part is so confusing.

What age were you when you got your green card. if you wrere 18-25 years , you must definitely get a status information letter stating the reason why you did not apply and if you wrere over 25 years , get a status information letter stating you were over the age range.

Actually, if you were between the ages of 18-26 when you went out of status, you were supposed to be registered for selective services then, irrespective of when you eventually got your GC. (SS applies to everyone who isn't a legal non-immigrant. i.e. USC, LPR, undocumented aliens, aliens out of status, ...)

I did not get my GC at the age of 29 So I was out of status from 91-99 but my FI visa valid till 96 . I'm not sure what to do but I will contacting Selective Service people today.
