Stuck in Name Check??? Let's track it

My namecheck was pending since Nov- 2003. I think all request letters i wrote to FBI 2 months ago did help. According to my experience, senetors, congressman didn't help much to clear namecheck.. You are on your own.. and just handle this issues yourself without expecting helps from anyone.. I am really thankful to god for helping me to clear this biggest mistery of my life.
Now, I really belive in news that "FBI working on backlogged cases".. so, hold your breath.. you are all in line to hear good news from USCIS.

Congratulations! I wrote to FBI a couples time within that last 5 months, hopefully mine will be done soon as well. :)

VP2003, your quest for GC is finally done. mine is about the same length as yours. :) i can totally imagine your feelings right now. congrats again!

Hi Belle,
absolutely.. Name check is real big headache for all of us. but again i recommend to wrote certified letters to FBI with genuine reasons. that really helps.

Hello there. I just learned of another infamous NC initiated beginning 2003 cleared very recently. Guy is from xSU.

May be they are really working on the backlog.
 
I visited the local office recently and was told that my name checkwas completed too.When??? She didnt want to tell me but I assume recently

today, I got another email from USCIS that "approval notice was mailed to you on Dec 16th". :D
Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeers..
good luck to all.. I think FBI really working hard to clear all old timers like me.
ppl who still waiting to clear their NC..pls... cross ur fingres.. & hold ur breath.. good news will be comming anytime for all of u..

My case is close to your date. But I still don't know how long I should wait. I want to go back home next year. I'm not sure whether I should apply for AP or not. Too long to wait for the name check clear...

I wrote letters to following address:
David M. Hardy, chief.
Record/ Information Dissemination Section,
Federal Bureau of Investigation,
935 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20535

I didn't not used any specific format.. just wrote down all the hardship I & my family having without GC. just request thm in politely.

If you see immigration officers via InfoPass, do they
give you a bit more info than "Your case is in Name Check"?
Like when it was sent, or send a follow up inquiry to FBI for you
and confirm they recieved it and so on ???

guys my name check has been initated in september 03 and still havent heard anything as yet. I had been to the congressmans office yesterday and they said they cannot do anything about it. This is the biggest mess of my life. I pray to god to help me through this unfortunate situation.

Hi all,
NNCP is national name check program conducted by FBI. contact info. for fbi is everywhere in this forum. Now, in order to find out ur case stuck at Namecheck u need to visit local USCIS office and make inquiry. if immigration officer is very nice sometimes he or she show u a print out of all ur status. and they also told u when they requested for ur name check at stuff.. but again its all depends on officer's nature & mood at tht time. so just keep trying ur best.. good luck.

My 485 was applied Dec 2004 (VSC) and I got a letter some time ago saying that my case has been delayed due to security check (aka Name check). I called the FBI number listed somehwerhere in this forum some time ago and I talked a lady and explained my case. She did not want to listen to the individual details but she said they have finished working on 2002 and 2003 cases and now working on 2004 and 2005 cases and she cannot give any time limit. As I see in this forum there are still people from 2002 and 2003?

Any one from NY had any success in contacting senators and getting any reply on this? I waited for my labor for 4 years and now this and I am truly fed up. :confused:

When did u call and get the information? I just called today(202-324-3625, Hardy's office), the lady answering the phone said 2003 cases were not all done, there's a still a lot they're working on.
