Strange situation

Here is the situation,
I applied for LC from Company A on pre-approved LC. Applied for 485 on 1/20/2006
Applied for H1b from Company A. This H1B approved with validity date ending on 2/21/2006, since my 6th year ends on 2/21/2006.

Now my company A is not applying for H1B because I might receive EAD in 2-4 weeks. In that case, what will be my status ? will I be out of status ?

You are not out of status.
You are considered "authorized stay" as your I485 is pending.

However, it is always wise to keep a backup H status, till final decision of I485 is made.

most people maintain H1 even after filing for 485.
How does H1 help in case 140 is rejected ?
Since H1 is obtained based on 140 pending, in case 140 is rejected, does not H1 also is cancelled ?
