My Info:
Company A filed H-1B (Post: Programmer Analyst) in 2006, Stamped in early 2007.

Never traveled to US, accepted an position in Germany in non-IT background with my MS degree.

Now my present company (non-IT) wants me to work for US division.

Questions:
1. Any chance of using the H-1B?
2. I read about AC 21 Portability, will it work?

Any help is highly appreciated....Thanks.

Yes, you can have your H-1B transferred to the new employer, cap exempt. After the transfer is approved, you can reuse the existing visa stamp in your passport

Thanks for the info. but i am changing from IT field to Chemical Eng. field. Does this pose any problems during my transfer. Additionally the job responsibilities will be completely different from the IT job.

The only problem is H-1 requires a bachelor degree. In most cases, for what you want you need two bachelor degrees in those two areas.

I have a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Eng. (used for H-1B filing with some IT experience), now i hold a MS degree in Chemical Eng, Majoring in Process Systems Eng.
