Received RFE finally.

RFE request is for
"IRS Stamped copies of the tax returns for 1999,2000,2001,2002 of the employer"
also
"IRS Stamped copies of the tax returns for 1999,2000,2001,2002 for myself and spouse "

Did anyone get RFE like this asking for "STAMPED copies"

come on , every one E-files these days who has the stamped copies...

any one encountered RFE like this?

rdprasad, it might take little longer

to get the copy of roiginal [which i've never heard of] tax returns. But generally IRS can fax you brief copy of ur tax return right away. call them and check it out..

Never heard of stamped copy tax returns!

Good luck!

Yeah we sent a FORM 4506 to the IRS to get stamped copies of the tax documents. IRS says it may take them 30-60 days to send the documents.

I just don't get why they need stamped copies, I talked to some friends who received RFE, but none of them asked "STAMPED" copies. My lawyer says it's just a way of delaying the case..

I was just wondering if anyone got something like this..

anyway we replied to the RFE, keeping fingers crossed..

That seems a big rip off!

IRS charges $39 for each return requested in Form 4506 ... so, 4 years of Tax returns costs $156 ..

Not sure, if the immigration GODS start demanding "Animal sacrifices" too ..

sent the copies I have, but attached a copy of the Form 4506 that we sent to the IRS requesting Copies.
Since my emplyor is also a Privately held company they also don't have stamped IRS copies of tax returns. so we sent one for the company too..

hopefully they will accept it..

can you think of any reason as to why they need STAMPED cases ?

Because you can make your fake tax return and claim that they are your original tax return. There is no proof that you filed the exactly same tax return that you are showing now.

It's quite possible that they are trying to delay it.

But on the other hand, normally when we file for I-485 application, we provide a copy of current tax return (I am not sure whether it's mandatory, but my attorney did it for me). Most of the cases our tax return has a copy of W-2 (printed by ADP or other payroll services which are pretty convincing). So most of the times they don't ask for any "stamped" copy. So it's possible that your attorney did not provide any tax return while filing for I485, or the tax return provided did not look very convincing for the
USCIS officer.
These are ALL my speculation though.

Are you sure about the fee? I got the following from IRS site -
http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=110571,00.html

Need a Copy of Your Tax Return Info?

Requesting transcripts (individuals):

You have two easy and convenient options for getting copies of your federal tax return information (tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts) -- by phone or by mail.

Request transcripts by calling 1-800-829-1040, or order by mail using IRS Form 4506. We do not charge a fee for transcripts. Allow two weeks for delivery.

Definitions:

A tax return transcript shows most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules. It does not reflect any changes you, your representative or the IRS made after the return was filed. In many cases, a return transcript will meet the requirements of lending institutions such as those offering mortgages and student loans.

A tax account transcript shows any later adjustments either you or the IRS made after the tax return was filed. This transcript shows basic data, including marital status, type of return filed, adjusted gross income and taxable income.

This is another form of harassment.

I think after we submit using Efile, it takes 1-2 days to get approval from IRS for successful returns. They also email us a approval number after tax is approved by IRS. we also fill
Electronic agreement during E-File.
Isnt these all valid tax submitted doc??

Yes, they are valid proof that you filed your tax return. However, they are not valid proof about the content of your tax return.
