Strange return of LC

I wonder if anyone has heard of this?
We got our GC's in 2004, today our prior employer calls us and faxes this notice from US DOS:

"We are returning the enclosed LC (ETA 750A & B). The I-140 has expired after a period of 2 years. During this 2 year period, a visa number was available but beneficiary failed to apply for an immigrant visa. The petition has now expired and neither or office nor the Dept. Of State is retaining any record of the petition. The LC is returned to you for appropriate action" !!!!!!!!!!

Any advice on what to do?
We already have our GC's through CP
Regards

My guess is that either you used labor substitution, or the employer used your labor for somebody else. Or you initially filed for I-485 and then changed to CP. Still, just another screwup by USCIS. Ignore it. But if you are really concerned, you can go for Infopass to check if your GC is still valid.

Called Uscis

Hello all,
Called the USCIS who confirmed everything is in order, except my new address.
They too were surprised with the LC return, but kept on saying - since you hold the GC physically there is no problem, and checked their system by my A number, it's OK for now.
One other strange thing they said is - go online and change your address, but at the end of it click on the option which says "I have Pending cases" ?? Anyone with similar experiences?
Regards,

A note on "change of address". The online change is for AR-11, which is the legal requirement for foreign residents.

This AR-11 however does NOT handle the cjhnage for any active cases you have. These need to be changed by phone.

Not correct. Once you do online change of address AR-11, the screens prompt you for pending cases as well.

I moved, filed online AR-11 and changed addresses for pending cases too. Did not phone or do anything else.

Received my GC at my new address.
