Registered Users (C)
My wife and I got our passports stamped at LA on 09/03/04. Everything went smoothly. According to the officer we should receive the cards in 6 months to a year.

However just a few minutes back I received the following email for both our cases:

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or
to Adjust Status

Current Status:

Our last written notice in this case was returned as undeliverable by
the post office on September 3, 2004. To update the mailing address so
this notice can be re-sent, please call the National Customer Service
Center at (800) 375-5283.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case
status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or
advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please
contact the National Customer Service Center.

National Customer Service Center (800) 375-5283.

*The projected processing time frame can be found on the receipt notice
that you received from the USCIS.
*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

Sincerely,

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

Thus far I have received all the documents sent by USCIS and I have been residing at my present address since almost 3 years now.

Has anyone seen similar message after stamping.

Anil

Did you do the stamping using Courtesy copy or original. It might be that the original is sent back or something from the lawyers office/work, just a possiblity though if you dont have the original approval notice.

Also don't rely on this case status too much. I wouldn;t worry too much over this. For me after stamping my case status changed from approved to finger print received case resumed.

There may be one of the things that would have happened.
(1) Original notice not recieved by your representative/attorney.
Check with your attorney whether the original copy was recieved by their office.
(2) A careless Data Entry problem at the mail center.
I suspect the second situation..., after recieving the return mail, the WAC number would have been entered wrongly....

I used courtsey copies to get the PP stamp. Lawyers office received the original approval notice for me, but not for my wife.

However both our case status now shows the undelivered mail message.

Maybe it is some kind of data entry error and nothing to worry about.

I tried calling National Service Center this morning. Didn't have the patience to be on hold for 20-25mins. Hence hung up.

The data entry problem may not effect/affect you, but would have..., to somebody else..., the reason I am thinking is..., instead of updating someother WAC number..., USCIS would have updated your WAC number with the non-delivery message. The other guy would not know what is happening with his case....
