Strange 221(g) case at Chennai

Hi Guys,

I apeared for a bussiness visa interview at chennai counsulate on 1st April and the story goes as:
Visa officer asked few qestion which I answered. Then the took my passport and DS forms and kept with him.
Next 5 mins he was trying to do something on his computer and told me system is down. Gave me a pink slip 221(g) and told me he is keeping my passport and my travel should not be an issue.
I told him I want to collect my passport over the counter from VFS office as I am planning to travel on coming weekend. He gave me a printout of the vfs office and told me to check the application status online with the Batch ID on pink slip after 3:30 pm the next day and then call VFS.

During all this he did'nt ask me even for a single document. Not even the invitation letter.

Now the site is not even showing my case ID and after doing some reserach I found 221(g) is a refusal and people are given their passports back.

I called up vfs and they said they did'nt recieve my passport from counsulate and the cousulate says to check status online.

I was planning to travel on 6 April, what should I do now.

Thanks Triple citizen for reply but do they keep the passport with them when they give a pink slip ? Have you seen such cases.

trust me, if she was going to deny you a visa, she will be getting rid of your passport as soon as she can which is giving it back to you. haha.
 
Yes, I was given a 221(g) in Montreal when I applied for my K-1 visa. I was missing one document. The consulate kept my passport and gave me an envelope to submit the missing document.
