So. I live in a border town and i go to school and work in the Mexico side. And the other day my GC got stolen. So I went to the CIS office at the crossing point and they had me pay for the new one and the let me cross back into the USA. Everyrhing happend in novenber and i still dont have a letter for the apointment for the fingerprinting stuff the thing is that I want to go to Mexico for christmas so i can spend it with my family from over there... So the question is.. is there any kind of permit that i can get so i can.cross to Mexico and when i cross back to the USA I dont have to pay 450 dlls again???

You don't pay for a replacement green card at the border, you mail the application to a specific USCIS location. I think what you paid at the border was a fine for entering without the green card, not a fee for a new green card.

Unless they gave you an I-90 receipt at the border, you'll have to file I-90 with USCIS and pay the fee. When you go for fingerprinting with the I-90 receipt, you can ask them to stamp your passport with I-551 which you can use to reenter the US while waiting for the plastic green card to arrive.

Yes. They filled a I-90 form and had to pay for that there. and I have already a passport but i havent recived a letter with the appointment to go and get the fingerprinting done. some my question is can i get something like that before the fingerprinting.. or a permit for like 3 day or something?? because they told me i have to wait for the letter withe date to go and do it.

You said it happened in November. When in November? It can take 3-5 weeks to get the fingerprint appointment letter.

Did you get a receipt when you paid for the I-90 at the border? Does it have a case number? If you have the receipt you can make an Infopass appointment at a USCIS office and get your passport stamped with I-551.
