My wife and I filed a I 130 last October 2007 in New York City and have not heard anything from immigration. Does a stokes interview take this long usually ? How long does it actually takes to receive a letter regarding an interview date ? It's past a year and no interview ? How can I go about finding a date ? Any help..thanks ...

I guess you should call them or hire an Attorney.

Your case is unique. It doesnt take that long in 95% cases.

hey will,
were u interviewed before? coz stokes is the second interview. from what i read in ur post u have never been interviewed which means u will be getting an appointment for an initial interview. i remember reading about some other member who was told backgrd check was pending and was never int for more than a year? u should make an infopass and see what is happening.

thanks guys.. well we've never been interviewed...we have an attorney who filed the I 130 there at the Federal building in NYC. He mentioned that it would take a yr or so but passed a yr already.. Here are the details: My wife and I married a yr ago but before our marriage she had a deportation status (expired VISA) anyhow we were able to petition the immig court and the judge lifted the deport status. At that point her/our attorney filed the I 130 back in early 10/'07. I just wondered if this is typcial for this long wait for interview...the attorney mentioned "Stokes Interview"..I've read that it can turn into a second interview but not necessarily.. Are there any others here who have heard about this long wait ??? Are we somewhere near , to receive a letter for this interview date at USCIS ?
