Still in Appeal, Can I re-new EAD?

Hey guys,

Alright so my EAD is expiring this December and of course im thinking of re-newing my EAD next month but I am in the middle of appealing (i guess it takes 6 months for a final decison) and well I filed the appeal in June.

So my queston is, Should I re-new my EAD? or could I even re-new it anyways?
 
You can file for renewal of your EAD, approval depends on the USCIS. Why was your I-485 denied?

To apply for an EAD you need a pending I-485. Now what I do not know is whether a denied I-485 in appeal is considered "pending".
 
Well the reason it got denied is that they received the wrong information so I appealed it and sent in evidence to overturn the decison. The I-130 was approved but I-485 is denied.

Interesting question. A denial is USUALLY a final decision on the merits, which means that one cannot get derivative benefits beyond that. However, I am not one hundred percent sure whether there is an exception in this context.
