My Sister in law holds a valid B1 visa which was issued to her to join her ( when he ship would dock in US) husband who works in a merchant navy.
Later on the trip for her husband got cancelled and thus she never needed to travel.
The current visa she has also has an annotation at the bottom that says ' TRAVELING TO JOIN HUSBAND SAILING ONBOARD MERCHANT SHIP'
She now wants to come an visit us and when she went to the consulate in India they said she does not need a new visa as she already has a valid one with her despite having it annotated as above.
My question to you folks is have anybody been in this situation before and do you think that note on the visa is going to cause any problems?
