Steps to follow before calling emergency number

Is this the number to call ?

I called 949-389-3007 to find out if my 485 application is pending due to
name-check. I was instantly asked to call 800-375-5283. I don't think
I'd get any more information than that is already available online calling this
number. How do you get stern-voiced operator at above number to melt
and give me my status ? Tell me those magic-words.

It is all luck. Don't try to call too often. First time even I failed. then after couple of days I called again and they said my name check is cleared. BTW you LUD will change after that.
