Step Mother's name in passport but real mother name on BC

hi
I am applying for GC soon after marriage. My birth certificate has my real mother's name on it but passport has my step-mother's name. what should I do to fix this issue? I won't be able to get new BC since I am not in India and there is no one who can run around to do that.

Any ideas and help will be appreciated deeply.

Get affidavits from all 3, explaining the situation

Its a tricky situation but can be resolved. All concerned parties can provide a affidavit - you real mother and your father saying that you were born to them. Another certificate from your step-mom saying that you were born to real-mom but she has been your mom for legal reasons.

Plus - I would recommend that you consult a lawyer. You can get good advice on this forum for 'regular type' issues. I have been visiting immiportal for 8-10 years and have never seen a question like yours. Do not just depend on the advice you get here and consult a lawyer.
