I am currently on STEM OPT, valid from 01/ 2025 to 01/ 2027. My current project is tentative to end in April 2025. My H1B was approved in October 2024 through consular processing, with an I-797B validity from October 2024 to September 2027. I have a few questions regarding my next steps:
- Should I remain on STEM OPT until I secure a new project (LCA was filed for 80K salary ), or should I change my status to H1B now?
- How can I do change of status from F1 stem opt to H1b being in USA?
- If I want to work with a new employer, do I have to go through the H1B lottery again, or can they file an H1B transfer? Is this a safe option?
