Staying in US or Canada

Hi ,
My 6 yrs on H1 is expiring in Sep 2002. I had applied for GC but left my company & joined a new company . MY I140 got approved 1 month after i left that company . I did\'nt apply for Gc with my current company. Now i want to leave this company ANd go to canada as i have got a job there and have got canadian PR.Will i get a fresh H1 for 6 years if i go out for 1 year and come back again oris it good if i apply for GC again. If yes will i be aable to extend beyond 6 years and will i be able to keep the old pririty date . I am so confused ,I don\'t know what to do
I would appreciate if anyone would give suggestions
Thanks

If you stay in canada for more than 1 year, you would get 6 more years again in H1B. Here is the catch buddy.
When you would be leaving for canada for good, please remember to surrender your I-94 card to the canadian authorities. this way US officials will know when you left US. So when you get a new H1B, you would be getting another 3 more years and then renew for 3 more years after.
You would be able to recapture the old PD only if you have a similar hob tittle or job descriptions.

Hi Canedian
Thanks for your reply? I assume that you are staying in Canada. How is it Staying there? I am asking this b\'cas i heard that you have to pay a lot of taxes and are you are able to save anything? Is this true ? I am planning to stay in Victoria? Do you think it is a good place.
IS it possible to maintain Canadian PR as well as work in US . I am planning to do that after I stay in canada for a year & then coming come to US for another 6 years.

I am a canadian citizen working in US. so I do not stay in Canada anymore. I had stayed in canada for long time before coming to US.
I used to stay in Toronto and its nice place to work and live.
I have bben to Victoria once and I can say it is a very very good place to stay. But housing is very expensive compared to Toronto.
Taxes are comparitively little higher than US but not by much.
My recommendation is to stay in canada and get citizenship and then come to US. Coming to US and getting a job after canadian citizenship is very easy.
