Staying abroad after Passport stamping

Hi Guys,

I am looking up for advice for my situation. I was the primary applicant for the 485 case. My wife and me got passport stamped after 485 approvals. My wife has left for India after that ( I recently received the plastic cards in mail) and she wants to stay there for about a 1 or 1.5 years (for some family reasons). Is it fine to do so to maintain her GC status while I stay in US keep working and maintain our bank accounts and file taxes?

What is the minimum amount of time she can stay in India to maintain her GC status?

Since she has already left we can we still apply for re-entry permit from India or US (in her absence?)?

I would appreciate any feedback on this case.

Thanks.

Since you already have plastic cards, what kind re-entry permit you need?

The maximum time one can spend out of US, as I understand, is 6 months.
