Stayed out of US for more than 6 months

I stayed out of US, for more than six months, after getting my green card. However this happened more than five years ago. During my last five years I have been in US pretty much continuously, taking occasional trip for a week or so couple of times, only.

I am about to apply for citizenship now.
Will they torture me a lot, demanding documentation on proving ties with US during the six months I was out of country, even if it happened more than five years ago. I filed my taxes and everything that year. I had a bank account too. But I of-course did not maintain an apartment.

Any tips/suggestions?

There is a high chances that IO will question you abt residency outside US as it assumes that residential ties has not met. Did you had re-entry permit when you left US? Also it will be good idea to gather some strong evidence why you were outside US for a long time.

No, they will ignore it because it was more than 5 years ago.

More than 5 years ago? Not even an issue.

N-400 doesn't even ask about trips more than 5 years ago. Use your common sense and don't disclose anything more than 5 years ago.

I hate to be so harsh, but I read here or some other forum someone disclosed that they claimed US citizenship before when they only did so in a casual conversation. Please use your common sense when disclosing things and never answer or explain more than what exactly is being asked.
