Stay in Abroad after GC

Urgent..
Can somebody tell me how long can a person stay after getting GC in abroad.I have a situation where my wife is abroad after she got GC and due to family emergency ties she had to stay there alomost 6 mons now .Please someone tell me if there is going to be any problem for her while coming back.This is really urgent message i need.Please let me know asap.

She can stay upto 1 year. If she stays more than one year, her LPR status will automatically considered abandoned. As she stayed more than 6 months, POE officer can ask some difficult question at POE. She needs to state that she had family emergency and she did not abandon her LPR status. Also if she mentions that her husband living in USA, that will help to prove her LPR status.
