This question is a little complicated.
My H1-B status expires in June 2005. The application to extend my H1-B status for another 3 years was approved in March 2005.
Question:
If I remain in the US past the expiration of the original I-94 (H1-B) what is my status? If someone were to run a IAQ (immigrant alien query) database check (to confirm my status), would it show my H1-B status was approved until 2008?
Or do I need to physically leave the country and reenter for that information to be updated?
Note:
1) I am from a visa-waiver country.
2) My I-94 (admission number) did not change when my H1-B was extended.
Thanks,
mdh
