Status Update Question

Hi Experts,

Does anyone know if the status on a n400 case updates from being placed in line for interview to interview letter has been sent? My cases updated on May 9th to Testing and Interview, noting that it was placed in line for scheduling. But as of today, I have not received the interview letter, so I am wondering if I'm still in the queue and whether the status will be updated again once I'm actually scheduled. Also, we had an issue in our building with the Post Office mail for two days this past week so I am paranoid that the letter might have been missed.

Thanks

I received my letter about 1 week after the status got updated online. The sequence was: First, text message, second: +2 days, online update, third: +6 days, letter arrived. So, everything happened on weekdays and this is for the bay area. If I remember it correctly, text message was on a Tuesday, online update on a Thursday, letter arrived next week on Wednesday. Note: I live only about 10 miles away from the USCIS office in a densely populated area. So USPS (snail-mail) service is fast.

Dago Red,

Can you post your timeline? In particular, how many days between the priority date (USCIS receive date) and the date of the actual interview?

I don't keep a record of all dates. But I remember the filing and interview dates and I had 78 days in between. That's for the SF bay area center - early this year. My case is pretty straightforward, no special circumstances.

@shomewa...My status was first updated to "...in line for interview..." and then it was changed to "...you are scheduled for an interview..." within a week.

Which DO you belong to? Could you post your dates?

Hi MomoRwida,

Thanks for the details on your case. My DO is Washington, DC. Here's my timeline:

* Sent N-400: 4/06/11
* Application received:04/12/2011
* Cashed check: 04/13/2011
* Received txt and email: 04/13/2011 got NOA in the mail 04/16/2011
* FP Notice mailed (from online status):04/20/2011
* FP letter received:04/23/2011
* FP Appointment date: 05/18/2011
* FP Early walk-in: 04/25/2011
* Online Status Changed to Testing and Interview:05/09/2011
* Interview Letter received:
* Interview Date:
* Oath Date:

I know this DO is known for being slow, so that's probably why it is taking longer than usual. Hopefully, the status will change soon to scheduled for an interview.

Call them, ask to speak to a 2nd officer if you are so nervous. They will tell you if an interview letter has been sent and when. Apart from that USCIS isnt stable when it comes to updating status and in line for scheduling could take anywhere from 4-8 weeks (in L.A at least).

Good luck.
