Status Question , Guru's Opinion Need

My friends family went to India on Vacation both (Green Card) holder , Wife is Pregnant due in Jan . Due to some Complication is not allowed to travel back to USA before Delivery .

Now what will be the status of child born to a Green Card Holder ,
For his wife i Think they might need Re-entry Permit since stay will be more that 6 Months , How the new born will be allowed to enter USA .

Gurus Please repond ...
 
Till the baby is

2 yrs, he/she is automatically issued the GC at the port of entry, while accompanied by parents. Should produce some evidence that he/she is indeed the child of the accompanied GC holder(s).

roran is very much correct. A baby of GC holder born outside US, are entitled to get GC at POE provided the baby is accompanied by parents and visit US before 2yrs is completed.
