I just got my PhD from an american University and joined work end of June. The law firm that was supposed to send in the paperwork missed the July 26th deadline for H1B application for students from US universities. My OPT ends in mid November this year and I'm in a pickle right now. Anybody know what the latest is on this front and the chances that this 20,000 cap would be increased? Are there any other options for me to stick around and work till Oct 2007 if additional H1Bs arent issued?
