Status Email from BCIS

I have been reading from other approval tracker threads (485) that they have received status emails. Is it from the BCIS? Where can one register to get status updated emails?

Go on the USCIS website, look for the 'case status' link on the right, go to 'portfolio'. You can sign up , plug in your receipt numbers and your email address and mark the 'email enabled' tab.

For some reason it sends 2 emails for every action taken.

Once you are signed up you can anxiously stare at the 'Last Updated' field. It is meaningless, but it will give you another thing to worry and post about.

Before I did that, I just found out that, my I-140 was approved on 1st Oct and both I-485 got approved yesterday. Good luck to you all.

(Aren't you glad that you didn't find out about the online features until today. This way you didn't have to drive yourself insane with compulsive email and LUD checks.)
