Status by e-mail ?

I have just ask my Lawyer to check the status of my wife's I-485 case status and she said that she had sent a mail to INS to check the status. Any body heard that lawyers can check the status by e-mail. I know that individual can not or at least I am not aware of.

Any comments?

Please call your lawyer again to find out how she did it and post details here.

Hope that your lawyer did not mean snail mail.

Anyway, we dont need new systems but need the existing systems to work more efficiently.

Now a days. lawyers also ridicule us. We became a specimen for them.

INS will be bombarded with mails. I really doubt it there's something like that.

Never heard of! Yes, one may do Fax enquiry, snail mail check etc. but e-mail!

I was also in doubt thats why I post it here, probably I will confirm on Monday with my lawyer.
Today again I have checked my emails and yes in fact she(my lawyer) wrote that "she had sent an email (not mail) so I guess she did sent an email.
It might be on personal one to one email not an formal one. I am saying so since when I went for my interview at SFO she was there with me and she was talking to INS officer as if she knows him very well.
But sure I will check with her on Monday and post my findings.
