Sorry

I cannot run at least today. BCIS will block my computer after script 1000 cases. Maybe you can ask somebody else in your group to run it.

It is the real statical analysis compared to rupnet. (I really appreciate rupnet and verymuch thankfull to greatyk) Why dont you guys put a movement on a case since 01 May. That will give a real picture by which INS approves the cases, and will be helpfull to calculate the estimated timeframe to finish Nov. & Dec.

I will put the movement on EAC-02-063-xxx cases.

Here is statics from my script.

Case Movement on EAC-02-063-xxxxx cases during month of May.

jay_gc2001 rupnet is statistical analysis this is poulation analysis

As per my understanding rupnet is a sample based analysis (the sample may be biased and the information incomplete but it is a "small" sample of the entire population)

where as the scripts run on the BCIS website by our friends above use the brute force approach of checking for ALL 485 cases in a given series and then give you the proporations of cases approved denied resumed etc. for the entire population of 485 applicants in that series and then it is no more a analysis based on a sample( random or not).

the science of statistics was developed to enable conclusions based on a small number of sample derived from the entire population (all 485 cases for a given series say 02082 XXXXX) which is unreacheable in most real life situations (thank here for the online status checking facility and the webrobots or scripts developed by our friends.

rupnet is based on volunteered sample where as the above analysis uses ALL the 485 casesin a given series . we can not use both as a 'true' estimate because rupnet relies on volunteers to update info which is not reliable and may be biased towards IT and web savvy 485 cases leaving out non IT 485 applicant including spouses of IT professionals. the script based analysis is biased towards some BCIS series handled by perticular BCIS officers assuming that case assignment happenes based on RD ND or EAC series.

The best dream analysis will be script run for all the series starting from jan 2001 till dec 2002 for 485 cases . I think the 1000 hits limit set by BCIS website for webrobots wont allow such a thing unless a webrobot with small inbuilt randomized delay between any two eac numbers is deployed and which complies with rules set buy BCIS site admin for webrobots on its website. It may also cause overload of the BCIS system and hence possibly be discouraged or may be illegal given that BCIS is a government site. hence in the given circumstances both Rupnet and the above analysis is serving all of us very well in my opinion

It looks like VSC is transfering more and more cases to a local office..... Seems like sending people for a second ride !!!!

I'm satisfied

Yes, you are absolutely right. However, it is still better than no moving as happened in the beginning of this year. I suppose we can not expect too much.

Hello, Greenland

Your script works great. However, I wonder if you can
modify your script to let it run on Microsoft Access.

With Access, one can do whatever SQL queries he/she likes.
