Starting a home based business

I'm on H1 and I would like to start a home based business. (i.e) I have a house that is really huge for me, so I'm thinking of starting a paying guest accomodation. Its like sharing an apartment with co-workers or friends, but the difference is that I'm sharing my house. But does it involve any legal implications. Pls let me know how advisable it is.
