Hi Fellow-Kin,
Regards,
I have a question, please give your input:

When I get my EAD, can I start my own company or do I have to get a job as an employee?

So here some of my questions, can my USC spouse and myself:

Start a company with EAD. What are the rules and restrictions?
Work for it directly?
Can my USC spouse use this company as a secondary job?
Write checks on behalf of company and take in profits?
Can the USC spouse work and get paid from the company?

In anticipation,

Thanks,
Piyalove

Same Question

Hi There,

I too would like to explore this option of self-employment or company ownership on an EAD.

Thanks!

I have been looking over the internet and I have found conflicting info, some says that yes you can do it as long your partner is a permanent resident or a US citizen, then it comes if your application is employment base, things change a little bit.

I will keep you posted if I found somebody (where I am) that can give me some light.

Oh by the way, search this forum, I mean inside immigrationportal.com, I found the same discussion, but they were H1B visa to GC.

Good luck,

I had asked this question on a different thread a few days ago. You can find it here.

Get a good CPA. They take care of everything. Its pretty easy to start a company. Look here.

Also, if you havent see it already, there is a forum for this right here.

Good Luck PiyaLove. Keep me posted, im looking forward in the same direction, maybe we can help each other out.
