Start TN to GC through PERM/i140/i485 process even if I might change jobs?

So I have been going through quite a few post here and in other places of people who have completed the whole TN to GC process. Looks more complicated than getting an H1B and do it the "normal" way but still very doable. The company I work for will support me to go either through the H1B route (which I might not get anyways) and/or start the PERM process right away. I have just below 2 years left of my current TN (also my first TN ever).

I have a few questions:
1. Will getting a PERM process started prevent me from switching jobs and get another TN at a different job? My understanding is that because the employer is sending the PERM and not me, I should be fine but I just wanted to check.
2. Once the PERM is approved am I still able to renew my TN?
3. Should I still apply for a H1B while the PERM process is going?

Thanks everyone for your help!

Start PERM right away. Depending on how far you get (I-140 approval), you may be able to port the process to your new job. Only filing I-485 prevents new TNs.
If they are willing to go H1-B, fine, but don't let it delay PERM.
